The SCRA Stock Car Racing Association invaded PVR with some of the best racing to be seen this season. 21 Factory Stocks took to the well prepared PVR clay in the 20 lap feature and all 21 were still racing at the checkered flag and only six were not on the lead lap. Now that is some close competitive racing!

Jason Harvil led the pack from his pole starting spot with Danny Pearson chasing him to lap four. Then Matt Martinez arrived on the scene and took over the second spot putting Pearson to third. This trio went this way to lap nine when Pearson had to pit and this gave third to Jodey Henderson. At ten laps down, half way, it was still Harvil, Martinez and Henderson but one lap later Martinez snuck by Harvil to take the point. The leaders encountered lapped traffic at lap eleven and had to weave their way thru the lapped cars. Martinez led with Harvil trying to take back the lead all the way to the line with Martinez taking the big win. Harvil had to settle for second ahead of Henderson, Michael Wrightsman and William McCullough. Rounding out the top ten were Bob Taylor, JC Parmeley, Scott Kleintop, Marlowe Wrightsman and Chris McCurdy Jr. The trophies were presented in honor of Terry Cox.

14 Super Mini Stocks signed in to take their turn on the clay with all 14 being able to take the green in their 20 lap feature. A restart greeted the group as Dave Barnes and Mitch Moher Jr. got tangled in turn four. At the second green Abraham Twiss jumped into the lead holding off Kevin Miner and Cody Peabody. Kenny Beardsley became the yellow at lap four and at lap six Steve Brazil was the yellow. Twiss continued to lead as Kent Ewart worked his way from the back. By lap seven Ewart had the lead putting Twiss to second with Miner in third. Two more yellows at laps 13 and 14 for Grady Clements and Amanda Baillie slowed the field. Ewart went on to take the win ahead of Twiss, Miner, Jeff Tarro and Henry Lopez. Underdog Towing & Recovery sponsored the trophies. Finishing out the top ten were Jacque McElderry, Brian Gourlie, Baillie, Clements and Brazil.

The always crowd pleasing Challenge Cup Sprints had a new face in their winners circle as RJ Johnson appeared on the scene and took the win. Bryan Swinehart led the first three laps and then spun it for a yellow. This gave Johnson the edge and he took the lead. One lap later Fritz Croy took his turn at the front but that only lasted one lap before Johnson took over again as Croy looped it. Johnson then took it in for the win ahead of Croy, Art Mankel III, Swinehart and Johnny Shelton. Gecko Automotve Glass provided the trophies.

Only three IMCA Sport Mods came to show their stuff with Chris Caldwell taking the win as they went all 20 laps. Second to Nick Boyd with Danny Pearson in third. PVR's GM Dee took care of the trophies.

The PVR Pure Stocks had a rain make up race from last Saturday but I am not sure they all knew the race was on as only nine shows showed. This group also went all 20 laps with no yellows for a quick one. George Fronsman had drawn the front row and he was off like a rocket at the green. He had Scott Kleintop and Steve Shumaker chasing him all the way as they put on a good battle. By lap seven they were already lapping cars. Points leader Mike Colclasure fell out at half way as Fronsman and Kleintop still dueled. Fronsman took the win sponsored by Tri-City Towing ahead of Kleintop, Shumaker, Tim Palmer and Mike Hough.
