The weather was beautiful, the lightning was spectacular, the track was fast and the racing was super at Prescott Valley Raceway. It was a great combination! With the 110 degrees in the Phoenix area many ventured up to find the 70 degrees refreshing.

The AODC Outlaw Dwarf cars had their biggest field of the season as 18 cars entered the event. This club continues to grow each race and they put on a green to checkered 20 lap race that had plenty of competition. Fred Donaldson had the outside pole postion and he grabbed the lead right at the green flag. The racing behind him was close and fun to watch. Mike Williams and Jeff Adams dueled for second until half way when Billy Van Meter entered the top spot picture. At lap six the leaders were already in traffic and threading their way through carefully. Top three at lap ten were Donaldson, Mike Williams and VanMeter. Lap 11 saw VanMeter take the runner up spot and he then headed for Donaldson but Donaldson had it all dialed in as he took home the big win. VanMeter had to settle for second ahead of Williams, Fred Defibaugh and Kenny Hodgkins. 16 of the 18 starters were still on the track at the checkereds. Rounding out the top ten were Bobby Saunders, Mike Moyer, Butch Dunn, Jim Ward and Brian Comley. Trophies were sponsored by Bedrock Remodeling.

The SCRA Factory Stocks made their second pilgrimage this year and brought along 21 cars. 20 took the green in their 20 lap feature as Mike Brigner had to scratch. Tim Mecl led the pack with Matt Martinez and Steve Shumaker in tow to lap four when Martinezs motor expired and he hit the pits. Now Shumaker was second with George Fronsman in third. Lap seven was the first yellow as Jerry Taylor spun, he retired to the pits. Then another yellow as Fronmans had a flat, He then also pitted. At half way it was Mecl, Vance Honea and Scott Kleintop. Another yellow slowed the field as Jason Harvil had hit an infield tire and was dragging it around the track. The last half of the race was all green with Tim Mecl taking the win ahead of Honea, Kleintop, Bobby Taylor and Danny Pearson. Those top five were rewarded trophies from Challenger Racing Engines. Finishing out the top ten were Jody Henderson, Marlowe Wrightsman, Shumaker, Michael Wrightsman and William McCullough.

11 Super Stocks were on hand for one of their largest fields of the season. Mitch Mohler from his pole position took the top spot first holding off Cristian Fuller in his first time out. Two laps later Fuller took over. With only five laps in the books Chris McCurdy spun bringing out the yellow and bunching up the pack. By this time Fuller had Kenny Gill right on his rear bumper with Buff VanLandingham right behind both of them. Fuller continued to be the leader until his motor got hot and he pitted at lap 18. Gill had just passed him and was now on his way to the victory when the red flew. David Wright had lost a wheel and was in the wall in turn two hard. After all the clean up the green flew and Gill flew to the win ahead of Vanlandingham, George Fronsman, Mohler and Brad Auringer. Prescott Valley Auto Brokers sponsored the trophies.

The AMA Modlite main had it all, close racing, yellows, a red and a Protect the Leader violation. After only one lap was in the books Adam Echter who was leading was taken out by Aaron Jones. Echter got the lead back and Jones went to the rear. Echter had John Priest right behind him with David Platt right there in the hunt for the win. Echter led six laps and then Priest took over. Lap nine they were in lapped traffic and Platt had moved to second. KJ Goodwin hit the back wall hard for a yellow at lap eleven and at lap 15 Nick Gamble spun for another one. Priest still leading with Platt and Echter still right behind him. With two to go the red flew as Doug Borders found his mount tumbling over in turn three. He emerged unhurt and was even smiling as he walked past the crowd. Priest went on to win the event ahead of Platt, Steve Bender, Echter and Bryan Deverge. D & O Contractors took care of the trophies.
